What happened today 🇺🇸,

• Trump said today was “our declaration of economic independence” as the reciprocal tariffs have gone into effect on imported goods from over 100 countries…the tariffs will be half of what other countries are currently charging the U.S., some notables are 34% on China, 46% on Vietnam, 10% on the UK…for more on Trump’s speech and the tariff rates click the article above

• Politico reported that President Trump has told members of his inner circle that Elon Musk will be "stepping back” in the coming weeks from his current role, however Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has responded saying the report is false

• The Democratic backed Judge, Susan Crawford, won the Wisconsin Supreme Court election giving the Wisconsin Supreme court a 4-3 liberal majority

• In the Wisconsin election as well, citizens voted to approve the requirement of photo ID when voting…requiring voter ID will now be added to the state’s Constitution

• Republicans Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine won special elections in two Florida congressional districts last night…Fine won the House seat formerly held by now National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Patronis won the house seat vacated by Matt Gaetz

• Federal judge, Dale Ho, has dismissed the corruption case against NYC mayor Adams with prejudice, meaning the case is done for good and can’t be brought back in the future

• Fidelity has launched a new retirement plan (IRA) that allows direct investment in cryptocurrency

• Amazon has made a last-minute bid to buy TikTok from ByteDance

• The ADP Private payrolls report showed U.S. companies added 155k jobs in March, this was above the expectations of 120k

• DOW up .56% / S&P up .67%

• China conducted a second day of military exercises around Taiwan, launching live-fire strikes in the East China Sea and practicing blockade operations near shipping lanes to the east and west of the Taiwan
