President Trump stated during his speech at the World Economic Forum that he will not use military force to acquire Greenland from Denmark and later in the day, he announced on social media a preliminary "framework" deal around Greenland with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte involving U.S. mineral rights and the "Golden Dome" defense system, prompting him to rescind the previously imposed tariffs against Denmark and seven other European NATO allies that were set to begin on February 1st
