• The FDA today officially banned the use of Red Dye No. 3 in foods and beverages in the U.S.

• The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a lawsuit against X, formerly Twitter, owner Elon Musk over Twitter stock purchases he made in 2022 claiming he did not report in a timely manner that he had purchased more than 5% of Twitter’s common stock in March of that year, which violated securities law

• Meta, the company that owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp is set to cut about 5% of its workforce, the people who will be let go will be its “lowest performers”

• Traffic on New York City’s busiest streets dropped by 7.5% and morning travel times fell on most major crossings into Manhattan during the first work week of the city’s congestion pricing plan per Bloomberg

• The Department of Transportation today sued Southwest Airlines alleging the carrier operated chronically delayed flights and fined Frontier Airlines for late-arriving flights

• The December CPI inflation came in at 2.9% year over year and .4% month over month both in line with expectations

• DOW up 1.65% / S&P up 1.83%

• Former South Korean President Yoon has been arrested by South Korea’s anti- corruption officials in order to be questioned over his martial law enactment last month

• Israel and Hamas has officially reached a ceasefire and hostage release deal ending the 15 months of fighting
