  • President Trump announced that the Trump Gold Card immigration program has launched, with its official website trumpcard.gov now live for submissions…individuals can pay $1 million as a "gift" to the U.S. Treasury for expedited permanent residency, plus a $15,000 vetting fee and background checks, while a $5 million Platinum tier (coming soon) allows up to 270 days/year in the U.S. without tax on foreign income

  • The Trump administration has proposed requiring visitors from 42 Visa Waiver Program countries like the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, and others, to submit five years of social media history, plus emails from the past 10 years, phone numbers, selfies, and family details via the ESTA online system for visa-free U.S. stays up to 90 days…this overhaul is open for 60-day public comments and White House budget review but not yet finalized

  • The U.S. seized a large oil tanker off Venezuela's coast​…the operation was led by the U.S. Coast Guard, targeted a sanctioned vessel likely carrying Venezuelan crude bound for buyers like Cuba or China, escalating pressure on NicolĆ”s Maduro's regime

  • Federal Judge, Charles Breyer, ruled that President Trump's deployment of California National Guard troops to Los Angeles exceeded his authority and has blocked the action, ordering the roughly 100 remaining guardsmen be returned to the state’s control…the Trump administration is expected to appeal this decision

  • A third federal judge ruled that the Department of Justice can unseal grand jury materials, investigative records, and documents from Jeffrey Epstein's 2019 New York sex trafficking case, citing the Epstein Files Transparency Act passed last month that overrides traditional secrecy rules

  • Congresswoman Haley Stevens (D-MI) formally introduced articles of impeachment against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

  • New York City Comptroller, Brad Lander, announced his candidacy for New York's 10th Congressional District, challenging incumbent Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman in the 2026 primary

  • The Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 25 basis points (.25%), setting the federal funds rate at 3.5%-3.75% in its third rate cut of the year

  • Miami has elected Democrat Eileen Higgins as its next mayor, defeating Republican Emilio GonzĆ”lez in the runoff election with about 59% of the vote
