What happened today 🇺🇸,

• President Trump’s Justice Department and FBI have concluded there is no evidence that Jeffrey Epstein blackmailed powerful figures, kept a secret “client list,” or was murdered, according to a newly released memo…their investigation found Epstein died by suicide and no further criminal charges are expected beyond those already brought

• Elon Musk has announced the formation of a new political party called the “America Party”, following his feud with President Trump over Trump’s recently signed tax and spending bill

• President Trump announced that starting August 1st the U.S. will impose 25% tariffs on imports from Japan and South Korea due to unresolved trade negotiations

• Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has been sued by major medical organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians, for changing federal Covid-19 vaccine recommendations for children and pregnant women and dismissing the CDC’s vaccine advisory panel

• The Department of Homeland Security has announced it will end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for people from Nicaragua and Honduras, affecting approximately 76,000 migrants in the U.S.

• TikTok’s parent company ByteDance is building a new U.S.-specific version of the TikTok app, which is reportedly set to launch on September 5th, as part of efforts to address U.S. government concerns about data security and to comply with a planned sale of TikTok’s U.S. operations to a group of American investors

• Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter and CEO of Block, has launched Bitchat, a decentralized messaging app that operates entirely over Bluetooth mesh networks without requiring internet connectivity

• Amazon Prime Day 2025, which is when Amazon Prime members have access to millions of deals across more than 35 categories, starts tomorrow (July 8th) and goes until Friday (July 11th)

• DOW down .94% / S&P down .79%

• President Trump is hosting Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House for talks focused on brokering a ceasefire in Gaza and discussing next steps after the recent joint U.S.-Israeli military strikes on Iran

• Russian Transport Minister, Roman Starovoit, was found dead in his car with a gunshot wound outside of Moscow today just hours after being fired by Vladimir Putin…read more about it here
