• President Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York delivering a speech criticizing globalism, immigration policies, climate change initiatives, and the effectiveness of the UN itself

• President Trump canceled a scheduled meeting with top congressional Democrats, Senate Minority Leader Schumer and House Minority Leader Jeffries, as the deadline to avert a government shutdown approaches…Trump cited what he called “unserious and ridiculous demands” from Democratic leadership regarding government funding for the reason he canceled the meeting

• Ryan Routh was found guilty on all charges in the attempted assassination of President Trump, the jury convicted Routh on five counts including attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate and assaulting a federal officer…he now faces a potential life sentence

• After Disney announced the return of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” starting tonight, both Nexstar and Sinclair, two of the largest owners of ABC affiliates, said they would still indefinitely preempt the show across dozens of local stations and show other programs instead

• The 2026 U.S. News & World Report college rankings have come out with Princeton University, MIT, and Harvard holding the top three spots nationally…see the full rankings list here

• Disney is raising the price of its Disney+ streaming service starting October 21st, the ad-supported plan will rise $2 to $11.99 per month, while the ad-free Premium plan will increase by $3 to $18.99 per month

• Eli Lilly announced that it will invest $6.5 billion to build a new manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, focused on producing small molecule drugs

• Apple has introduced a new feature in iOS 26 that allows users to create polls directly within the Messages app…this integrated polling tool lets users add up to 12 options, vote in real time, and even add new choices, making group decisions easier and more organized

• DOW down .19% / S&P down .55%

• President Trump met with Ukrainian President Zelensky today where Trump expressed a major shift in his stance, stating that Ukraine with the support of the EU and NATO can win back all territory lost to Russia and possibly more…Trump also called Russia's military "a paper tiger" and highlighted the severe economic troubles facing Russia
