• Meta will adjust its content review policies on Facebook and Instagram, getting rid of fact checkers and replacing them with user-generated “community notes,” similar to Elon Musk’s X

• Meta has also named UFC CEO, Dana White, to its Board of Directors

• Trump had a press conference today in which he spoke about taking control of Greenland and the Panama Canal saying that they are vital for U.S. security and he would not rule out using military force or economic action to do so. He also discussed renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America” and annexing Canada as the 51st state

• Trump has announced a $20 billion foreign investment to build new data centers in the U.S., the States involved in the plan are Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana

• The House of Representatives passed the Laken Riley Act today which would require the detention of undocumented immigrants arrested for certain non-violent crimes such as theft, the bill now heads to the Senate for a vote

• A New York appeals court judge today rejected a request by President-elect Trump to delay his criminal sentencing Friday for his conviction in the case related to hush money payments

• J.P. Morgan is preparing to tell all its employees to return to the office five days a week, ending a hybrid-work option for thousands of staff per Bloomberg

• U.S. consumers will no longer have medical debt appear on their credit reports under a new rule the Biden administration finalized today, the rule will end the inclusion of medical debt on credit reports and ban lenders from using certain medical information in loan decisions

• DOW down .42% / S&P down 1.11%

• A 7.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Tibet and areas of Nepal, damaging hundreds of houses, littering streets with rubble and killing at least 126 and injuring 188 people in the process
