Uber users in Austin are getting matched with Waymo robotaxis | TechCrunch

Uber users in Austin now have a choice between a Waymo robotaxi and a human driver. The two companies officially launched Tuesday the "Waymo on Uber"

  • Uber has officially launched its robotaxi rides, starting today Uber users can match with one of Waymo’s Jaguar I-PACE vehicles while booking with Uber and get a driverless ride around Austin, Texas

  • Earlier in the day it was reported that the U.S. and Ukraine will sign the minerals deal, as Trump wanted it done before his speech to Congress…however later at night U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent says "there is no signing planned" for a minerals deal with Ukraine so as of now it looks the the deal is still off

  • U.S. tariffs on goods imported from Canada and Mexico have gone into effect with 25% hitting each country, also an additional 10% tariff on Chinese goods which raises their total rate to 20%

  • China responded on by implementing 15% tariffs on U.S. imports of meat, fish, and on other of crops, taking aim at America’s agricultural industry. Canada and Mexico have retaliated with tariffs as well

  • The IRS is drafting plans to cut its workforce by as much as 50%, the IRS currently has about 90,000 employees

  • Linda McMahon has been confirmed by the Senate as Education Secretary

  • Apple has introduced their new iPad Air with an M3 chip and advanced artificial intelligence capabilities

  • S&P 500 has officially erased its entire gain since the election, wiping out $3.4 trillion in value

  • DOW down 1.55% / S&P down 1.22%

  • The European Union has a new plan to “Rearm” this would see more than $840 billion dollars spent on defense

  • A majority of the Supreme Court appeared prepared today to shut down a lawsuit from the Mexican government alleging American gun manufacturers should be held responsible for cartel violence on the Southern border
