  • Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, has filed a lawsuit against Tylenol maker Kenvue and its former parent company Johnson & Johnson, alleging they engaged in deceptive marketing by hiding potential links between Tylenol's active ingredient, acetaminophen, and autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders when taken during pregnancy…Kenvue has denied the allegations and said they will defend its product's safety and challenge the lawsuit's scientific basis

  • 25 states and the District of Columbia sued the Trump administration to block the suspension of SNAP benefits starting November 1st amid the ongoing government shutdown, arguing that the USDA is unlawfully withholding $5 billion in contingency funds Congress authorized through 2026 to sustain the program

  • President Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi signed a deal in Tokyo aimed at strengthening U.S.-Japan ties, which includes a framework imposing a 15% tariff on Japanese imports, a $550 billion investment by Japan into the U.S., and an agreement to secure supplies of critical minerals and rare earth elements…read more here 

  • Federal judge, Susan Illston, has extended indefinitely a preliminary ruling that blocks the Trump administration from firing federal workers during the government shutdown

  • Nvidia has announced a partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy to build seven new AI supercomputers

  • OpenAI has completed its restructuring into a for-profit public benefit corporation (PBC) named OpenAI Group PBC, which is overseen and controlled by the nonprofit entity renamed the OpenAI Foundation…the nonprofit holds a 26% equity stake valued at about $130 billion and maintains governance authority over the for-profit entity, while Microsoft holds approximately a 27% stake, and the remaining shares are owned by investors and employees

  • Musk’s company xAI has launched, Grokipedia, an AI-powered online encyclopedia that is designed as a rival to Wikipedia

  • Apple will soon introduce a feature in Apple Wallet allowing U.S. users to create a digital version of their U.S. passport, which can be used at select TSA checkpoints for identity verification during domestic travel

  • PayPal and OpenAI have reached a partnership to integrate PayPal’s digital wallet directly into ChatGPT, making PayPal the first major payment platform within OpenAI’s Instant Checkout feature

  • DOW up .34% / S&P up .23%

  • Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered the military to launch immediate and "powerful" strikes in Gaza in retaliation for an alleged Hamas attack on Israeli forces in Rafah which Hamas claimed they had no part in and also a disputed return of hostage remains
