• Target announced price cuts on 3,000 food, beverage, and household essential items to help families manage tight budgets during the holiday season…Target also brought back its Thanksgiving meal for four offer at less than $20 and pledged a $500,000 donation to Feeding America to support food banks across the country

• The U.S. Senate has officially voted to end the government shutdown, passing a temporary funding bill that would fund the government through January 30th, 2026…the bill includes provisions for critical programs like SNAP and veterans benefits, as well as back pay for furloughed federal employees, the bill now heads to the House of Representatives for a final vote before the government can officially reopen

• The USS Gerald R. Ford, the U.S. Navy's largest and most advanced aircraft carrier, entered Latin American waters today as part of an increased military presence to support counter-narcotics operations and combat transnational criminal organizations…the deployment includes over 4,000 sailors, multiple tactical aircraft, and additional warships, aiming to disrupt illicit drug trafficking amid heightened tensions with Venezuela

• Former President Obama surprised a flight of nearly 80 Korean and Vietnam War veterans arriving in Washington, D.C., ahead of Veterans Day by boarding the plane, thanking them over the intercom for their extraordinary service, and personally greeting each veteran while presenting them with Presidential Challenge Coins…the veterans were part of the Honor Flight Network, a nonprofit that provides free trips for veterans to visit national memorials, making the moment both heartfelt and memorable…watch it here

• Reports today stated that the United Kingdom has suspended intelligence sharing with the U.S. about suspected drug trafficking vessels in the Caribbean, citing concerns over legality and a desire not to be complicit in recent U.S. military strikes targeting these vessels
