• About 20,000 federal employees have taken the Trump Administration’s “buyout” option that was offered last week, the offer is available until Thursday so that number could still rise

• All 67 bodies have been recovered from the plane crash in Washington D.C. last week

• President Trump is expected to attend the Super Bowl this weekend in New Orleans

• The Senate has officially confirmed former House Rep. from GA, Doug Collins, to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs

• The JOLTS job report today showed job openings dropped sharply to 7.6 million in December below the 8 million expected, a sign the labor market may be slowing

• Waffle House is adding a 50-cent per egg surcharge to counter the rising costs of eggs due to the bird flu that has caused an egg shortage

• Fox Corp. is planning to launch a new stand-alone subscription-based streaming service that will have news and sports content by the end of 2025
