  • President Trump invoked Section 740 of the 1973 District of Columbia Home Rule Act to place the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department under federal control and declared a public safety emergency…Trump also deployed 800 National Guard troops to D.C. and appointed Attorney General Bondi to oversee the police

  • Federal judge, Paul A. Engelmayer, has denied the Justice Department's attempt to unseal the grand jury transcripts related to Ghislaine Maxwell's indictment, ruling that the transcripts contain no significant new information beyond what is already public

  • President Trump signed an executive order extending the deadline for tariffs on Chinese imports by another 90 days…this extension maintains the current tariff rates of 30% on Chinese goods and 10% on U.S. goods, delaying a return to much higher tariffs and allowing ongoing trade negotiations between the U.S. and China to continue

  • Intel CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, met with President Trump at the White House today, following Trump’s recent public calls for Tan’s resignation over alleged “conflicts of interest” tied to Tan’s investments and business connections in Chinese companies…following the meeting Trump took to social media to say the conversation was “interesting”

  • Nvidia and AMD have reached a deal with the U.S. government in which they will pay 15% of their revenue from AI chip sales in China to the government as a condition for obtaining export licenses

  • Economist, Dr. E.J. Antoni, has been nominated as the next Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics

  • Paramount has acquired U.S. media rights to the UFC in a seven-year, $7.7 billion deal starting in 2026, making all UFC events available to Paramount+ subscribers at no extra cost and ending the traditional pay-per-view model…read more here

  • Ford is investing nearly $2 billion to expand its Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky to build a new and affordable midsize electric pickup truck and create around 2,200 new jobs
