What happened today 🇺🇸,
Over the weekend the U.S. bombed three of Iran’s nuclear facilities, since then the U.S. has issued a “worldwide caution” alert for Americans traveling abroad and Iran launched retaliatory missile attacks targeting a U.S. military base in Qatar, the missile attacks was intercepted and resulted in no reported injuries…later in the night around 6pm EST President Trump announced a “complete and total ceasefire” and the war involving Israel, the U.S. and Iran has seemingly come to an end
Abortion rates in the U.S. continued to rise in 2024, reaching approximately 1.14 million procedures, up from 1.06 million in 2023, despite widespread state bans and restrictions following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade…the increase was driven largely by greater use of medication abortion and telehealth services, which now account for about one in four abortions
New York Governor, Kathy Hochul, announced that the state will build its first new nuclear power plant in decades, directing the New York Power Authority to develop an advanced and zero-emission facility in upstate New York
The Supreme Court has allowed the Trump administration to deport migrants to third countries where they have no prior ties, temporarily suspending a lower court's requirement that migrants be given a meaningful opportunity to contest their removal…read more here
