What happened today 🇺🇸,

  • President Trump has said that progress has been made on the sale of TikTok by its Chinese parent company ByteDance, however more time is needed so Trump has signed an executive order to keep TikTok up and running for 75 days while the deal gets over the finish line…reports later in the night said that a deal was close until Trump’s tariffs were rolled out and the Chinese government put the deal on hold

  • The Trump administration fired the head of the National Security Agency and the U.S. Cyber Command General Timothy Haugh 

  • The founder of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, will step down as the chairman of the forum

  • California Governor, Gavin Newsom, has asked world leaders to spare California from retaliatory tariffs and is seeking deals for the state to bypass the ongoing trade war

  • President Trump said in a social media post today that it would be a "PERFECT time for Powell to cut interest rates” sending a message to the Federal Reserve to bring interest rates down…Federal Reserve Chairman Powell said later on that he expects President Trump’s tariffs to raise inflation and lower growth and indicated that they won’t move on interest rates until they get a clearer picture on the ultimate impacts

  • The U.S. economy added 228,000 jobs in March above expectations of 140,000, however the unemployment rate rose to 4.2% above expectations of 4.1%

  • DOW down 5.53% / S&P down 5.97%

  • China has responded to Trump’s new tariffs and announced they will counter by imposing a 34% tariff on U.S. goods that will begin April 10th

  • The actor, podcaster, and media personality, Russell Brand, has been charged with rape and other sexual offenses that occurred between 1999 and 2005 by the UK police…Brand has denied the allegations
