What happened today 🇺🇸,
The Federal Trade Commission, joined by seven states, has sued Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation, accusing them of deceptive ticketing practices and illegal coordination with brokers to resell tickets at substantial markups
President Trump met with British Prime Minister Starmer at Starmer’s country estate Chequers, they discussed strengthening the U.S.-UK relationship, announced a major U.S.-U.K. investment agreement called the "Tech Prosperity Deal" involving technology, energy, and AI, and also talked global issues
President Trump announced on social media that he is designating the Antifa group/movement as a "major terrorist organization”, however legal issues may arise as Antifa lacks centralized leadership or formal structure and U.S. law does not currently provide a clear mechanism for labeling domestic groups as terrorist organizations…we’ll see how this develops
Federal judge, Timothy J. Kelly, has blocked the Trump administration from deporting hundreds of unaccompanied Guatemalan minors from the U.S. and back to their home country…read more here
The Supreme Court will hear arguments on November 5th in a fast-tracked case challenging President Trump's authority to impose tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA)…the case will decide whether Trump lawfully used emergency powers to levy tariffs on imports from many countries
Meta unveiled the Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses that have a built-in display on the right lens for apps, alerts, and directions, controlled by a neural wristband that interprets subtle hand gestures using electromyography (EMG)…they are priced at $799 and are available starting September 30th
Hyundai Motor Group announced a $2.7 billion investment to expand its Georgia plant at Ellabell, aiming to increase its annual production capacity by 200,000 vehicles over the next three years to a total of 500,000 vehicles by 2028
U.S. initial jobless claims fell by 33,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted total of 231,000 for the week ending September 13th, this was below the expectations of 241,000
