What happened today 🇺🇸,

• President Trump may soon invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 in the coming days as a way to fast track mass deportation efforts

• The White House has reportedly directed the U.S. military to draw up options for increasing the American troop presence in Panama to achieve President Trump’s goal of “reclaiming” the Panama Canal

• 21 Democratic attorneys general sued the Trump administration today over the mass firings at the Department of Education

• Federal judge, William Alsup, ordered multiple government agencies including Veterans Affairs, Treasury Department, the USDA, more to offer fired probationary federal workers their jobs back

• On social media, President Trump said he will place a 200% tariff on all wines, champagnes, and alcoholic products coming from the EU if they do not cancel their 50% tariff on U.S. whisky

• Meta will be releasing its version of “Community Notes” for Facebook, Instagram, and Treads on March 18th

• Originally yesterday the Federal Trade Commission requested a delay on their Amazon trial due to resource constraints, hours after requesting the delay the FTC reversed course and said it will meet the deadlines for its Amazon Prime deceptive practices case 

• The average rate on a 30-year mortgage in the U.S. inched higher this week, the average rate now sits at 6.65% up from 6.63% last week

• February Producer Price Index (PPI) inflation came in at 3.2% year over year below expectations of 3.3% and .0% month over month below the expectations of .3%

• Gold prices officially crossed above $3,000/oz for the first time in history today

• DOW down 1.3% / S&P down 1.39%

• Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, attended the pre-G7 summit in Canada today in which the war in Ukraine and tariffs were a main topic of discussion…for more info click here

• Putin said he wants to talk with the Trump administration before he fully agrees to the ceasefire that Ukraine agreed to earlier this week, but is receptive to the plan and noted that any truce should lead to “lasting peace”
