What happened today 🇺🇸,

  • President Trump spoke with Russian President Putin today and announced plans to hold a second summit in Budapest, Hungary, in the coming weeks to discuss ending the war in Ukraine…Trump described the call as “very productive” and said U.S. Secretary of State Rubio will meet Russian advisers before the summit, the Budapest meeting will follow Trump’s Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy tomorrow

  • A federal judge has ordered all ICE agents working in the Chicago area to wear body cameras and keep them activated during law enforcement activities

  • Former national security adviser to President Trump, John Bolton, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Maryland…the indictment includes 18 counts related to the mishandling of national defense information under the Espionage Act…Bolton has denied any wrongdoing

  • The Trump administration is working to double its financial aid to Argentina, aiming to provide a total of $40 billion by adding an additional $20 billion in funding from sovereign wealth funds and private sector loans to the $20 billion credit swap already pledged

  • The commander of the U.S. Southern Command, Admiral Alvin Holsey, is stepping down and will retire at the end of 2025

  • The Trump administration announced a deal with drugmaker, EMD Serono, to significantly reduce the cost of common fertility medications used in IVF treatments, offering an estimated 84% discount through the government’s TrumpRx platform starting January 2026….also new federal guidance encourages employers to offer fertility coverage as a separate benefit from major medical insurance

  • CNN is launching a new streaming subscription service called CNN All Access on October 28th, priced at $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually, with early signup discounts…the service will offer live broadcasts, on-demand videos, documentaries, and exclusive digital content

  • Nestlé, the global food and beverage company, announced that it will cut 16,000 jobs worldwide, which is approximately 6% of its workforce, over the next two years as part of a sweeping cost-cutting plan under new CEO Philipp Navratil

  • Steve Jobs will appear on the 2026 American Innovation $1 Coin representing California, which is part of a series recognizing significant American innovators…read more here 

  • Individual bankruptcy filings in the U.S. increased by 15% in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, with 249,152 Chapter 7 filings recorded

  • The average rate on the benchmark 30-year fixed mortgage decreased slightly to 6.27% this week, down from 6.3% last week
