• President Trump has ordered the Department of Defense/War to immediately resume nuclear weapons testing, marking the first such directive in over 30 years…Trump stated this move was prompted by nuclear testing programs in other countries like China and Russia

• The Pentagon has ordered the National Guard in all U.S. states and territories to form “quick reaction forces” of roughly 500 troops per state, totaling around 23,500 personnel, armed with batons, body shields, Tasers, and pepper spray to respond rapidly to riots and civil unrest…read more here

• President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in South Korea, the discussions focused on resolving U.S.-China tariff disputes, trade restrictions, rare earth minerals, and fentanyl trafficking…the meeting resulted in verbal commitments to scale back trade escalations, including China's postponement of rare earth export restrictions for a year and for them to buy U.S. soybeans and in return the U.S. would lower tariff rates

• Dr. Casey Means, President Trump’s nominee for U.S. Surgeon General, has had her Senate Committee confirmation hearing delayed because she went into labor with her first child

• Nvidia will invest up to $1 billion in the AI startup Poolside, Poolside is a company that offers AI-powered coding assistants

• The average rate on a 30-year U.S. mortgage has fallen for the fourth consecutive week, reaching its lowest level in over a year at 6.17% down from 6.19% the last week
