What happened today 🇺🇸,

• The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched a safety inquiry into AI chatbots, focusing on their impact on children and teenagers…the FTC has issued orders to several companies, including OpenAI, Meta (and its Instagram unit), Google, Snap, xAI, and Character.AI, seeking detailed information on how they measure, monitor, and mitigate potential negative effects of their chatbots on minors

• President Trump announced that he will posthumously award Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, following Kirk's assassination at Utah Valley University

• Paramount Skydance is preparing a majority cash bid to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, including its cable networks and movie studios…this merger would unite major brands like CBS, CNN, HBO, Nickelodeon, and DC Studios under one umbrella

• Robinhood is launching a new social platform called “Robinhood Social” within its app that is designed to create a live and verified trading community for retail investors…Robinhood Social will let users post real trades, follow each other, discuss strategies, and even see trades from public figures, insiders, and politicians based on public filings

• Gmail is rolling out a new “Purchases” tab that provides users with a centralized and quick view of all their online orders and upcoming package deliveries

• August CPI inflation came in at 2.9% year over year, in-line with expectations and Core CPI inflation came in at 3.1% year over year, which was also in-line with expectations

• Initial jobless claims in the U.S. increased by 27,000 to 263,000 in the week ending September 6th, this was above the expectations of 235,000 claims

• DOW up 1.36% / S&P up .85%

• The S&P 500 closed at a new all-time high

• President Trump reportedly “demanded” Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu commit not to strike Qatar again after Israel launched an airstrike targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar

• The UK has fired its ambassador to the U.S., Peter Mandelson, after newly revealed emails and other communications exposed the depth of his relationship and closeness with Jeffrey Epstein
