Key inflation rate hits 2.1% in September, as expected, closing in on Fed target

The personal consumption expenditures price index was expected to increase 0.2% in September and 2.1% from a year ago.

  • The September PCE inflation rate had come in at 2.1% year over year as expected- Core PCE inflation, which excludes the price of energy and food, came in at 2.7% year over year above the 2.6% expectation
