• The attorney general for the District of Columbia announced that Washington, D.C. is suing the Trump administration over the deployment of National Guard troops in the city

• The U.S. Justice Department is reportedly considering proposals to restrict transgender people from owning firearms…some Justice Department officials are exploring whether transgender people could be classified as “mentally ill” for gun ownership purposes, which would raise significant legal and constitutional challenges given Second Amendment protections…for the CNN Report and for the NYP Report

• The U.S. Department of Justice has reportedly opened a criminal investigation into Federal Reserve Governor, Lisa Cook, concerning allegations of mortgage fraud

• Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert Kennedy Jr., testified at a Senate Finance Committee hearing today where lawmakers criticized him for his vaccine policies and leadership decisions at the CDC…watch the hearing here

• Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, is set to begin interviews on Friday, September 5th as part of the process to select the next chair of the Federal Reserve

• FIFA has announced that ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup will start at $60 for group-stage matches and could reach up to $6,730 for the final, these prices could change as dynamic pricing will be used for the tournament…read more here

• Paramount Global has announced a mandatory return-to-office policy requiring employees to work in the Paramount offices five days a week starting January 5th, 2026

• Bari Weiss, the editor and founder of The Free Press, is reportedly set to take on a prominent role at CBS News as Paramount nears a deal to acquire The Free Press for up to $200 million

• The ADP National Employment Report for August showed that U.S. private sector employers added 54,000 jobs which was below the expectations of 65,000 and way down from the 104,000 jobs added in July

• DOW up .77% / S&P up .83%

• The S&P 500 hit a new record high today

• French President, Emmanuel Macron, announced that 26 countries have pledged to provide Ukraine with security guarantees and deploy troops as a “reassurance force” to support Ukraine once a ceasefire or peace agreement with Russia is achieved
