What happened today 🇺🇸,
House Speaker Mike Johnson has publicly stated that the White House and Justice Department "should put everything out there and let the people decide" when it comes to the Epstein files, breaking from President Trump on the matter… also today House Republicans narrowly blocked a Democratic effort to force the release of Justice Department files related to Jeffrey Epstein, with the motion failing 211-210 along party lines, all present Republicans voted against Rep. Ro Khanna’s (D-CA) procedural amendment that would have required Attorney General Bondi to publish the files within 30 days
President Trump announced that the U.S. has reached a trade deal with Indonesia under which Indonesian goods will face a 19% tariff upon entering the U.S., while U.S. exports to Indonesia will not be taxed
Senate Republicans are moving to scale back some of President Trump’s proposed $9.4 billion in spending cuts, particularly by preserving some funding for global AIDS programs and potentially softening cuts to public broadcasting, in order to secure enough votes for the cuts to pass
News Corp, which owns media outlets like The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones & Company (includes Barron's, MarketWatch), New York Post announced that its board has authorized a new $1 billion share buyback program
Apple has committed $500 million to a long-term partnership with MP Materials, which is the only fully integrated rare earth mining and magnet production company in the U.S., to domestically source rare earth magnets essential for their devices like iPhones and iPads…read more here
