What happened today 🇺🇸,

• The U.S. military conducted a lethal strike on a drug-carrying vessel in the southern Caribbean that had departed from Venezuela…Secretary of State Rubio stated the vessel was operated by a designated narco-terrorist organization and that this action is part of an intensified effort to combat drug trafficking from Venezuela

• The House Oversight Committee has released 33,295 pages of Epstein files provided to them by the Department of Justice, most of the files turned over are already public, apparently 97% are already in the public domain while 3% are new…we’ll break down any key takeaways in tomorrow’s newsletter, once we and everyone else have had time to dig through them…view them here 

• President Trump announced that the U.S. Space Command headquarters will be relocated from Colorado Springs to Huntsville, Alabama

• House of Representatives member, Jerry Nadler (D-NY), announced that he will retire and not seek reelection in 2026…this ends his 34-year career in Congress

• President Trump announced Monday that he will award former NYC Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, the Presidential Medal of Freedom

• A federal judge in California ruled that President Trump cannot use the National Guard and military personnel in California to enforce laws, make arrests, or conduct law enforcement activities

• Kraft Heinz announced it will break up its business, separating into two independently publicly traded companies…one new company will focus on sauces, spreads, and boxed meals (brands like Heinz, Kraft Mac & Cheese, Philadelphia) and the second will handle grocery products such as Oscar Mayer, Maxwell House, Capri Sun, and Lunchables

• A federal judge ruled that Google is not required to sell its Chrome web browser as part of the Justice Department's antitrust case…read more here

• Starbucks is adding new Protein Lattes and Protein Cold Foams to its menu starting September 29th…these drinks are made with protein-boosted milk (2% milk blended with unflavored protein powder) and come in a range of flavors including banana, vanilla, chocolate, matcha, salted caramel, and seasonal options like pumpkin and pecan

• The price of gold hit an all-time high today of $3,600/oz

• A recent report from Payroll Integrations showed that 38% of employees overall have withdrawn money from their retirement accounts, often to cover urgent financial needs rather than discretionary spending

• DOW down .55% / S&P down .69%

• Belgium announced that it will recognize the Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly in September joining Australia, France, Canada, and the United Kingdom in doing so
