🗞️OpenAI set to compete with Google

• OpenAI is set to launch an AI-powered web browser in the coming weeks that will challenge Google Chrome by integrating ChatGPT-like AI agents directly into the browsing experience…this new browser aims to keep more user interactions within an AI chat interface, giving OpenAI direct access to valuable user data and potentially disrupting Google's dominance in web browsing and advertising

• President Biden’s former White House physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, invoked both doctor-patient privilege and his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during a closed-door House Oversight Committee deposition investigating Biden’s mental health…O’Connor refused to answer questions such as whether he was ever told to lie about Biden’s health or believed Biden was unfit for office, with his attorneys stating the refusal was necessary due to legal and ethical obligations, while Republicans called the move unprecedented and suggested it reinforced suspicions of a cover-up

• A U.S. federal appeals court struck down the FTC’s “click-to-cancel” rule, which would have required companies to make subscription cancellations as easy as sign-ups, due to the agency’s failure to follow required rule making procedures…the rule will now not take effect and businesses are not currently obligated to simplify their cancellation processes

• The Trump administration has filed a lawsuit against California, arguing that the state’s policies allowing transgender girls to compete on girls’ sports teams violate Title IX, the federal law banning sex discrimination in education

• Linda Yaccarino has announced she is stepping down as CEO of X (formerly Twitter) after two years in the role

• Emirates Airline has officially signed a partnership with Crypto.com to enable customers to pay for flights and services using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies

• Today, Nvidia became the world’s first publicly traded company to reach a $4 trillion market capitalization…read more here

• Merck is acquiring Verona Pharma, a UK-based biopharmaceutical company specializing in respiratory diseases, for approximately $10 billion

• Almost half of Generation Z (49%) have decided planning for the future is “pointless”, per Credit Karma

• DOW up .49% / S&P up .61%

• Ukraine has suffered its worst attack since the war began, with Russia launching over 700 drones and missiles across multiple regions, causing at least eight civilian deaths and widespread damage…the attack came not long after after President Trump pledged increased U.S. military aid to Ukraine
