🗞️Nuclear submarines positioned near Russia

What happened today 🇺🇸,
President Trump has announced that he has ordered two nuclear submarines to be deployed in the "appropriate regions" near Russia…this is a response to what Trump called "highly provocative statements" made by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who currently serves as Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council
The FBI reportedly redacted President Trump's name and those of other high-profile public figures from the Jeffrey Epstein files during a 2025 review of over 100,000 pages, the redactions were justified by FOIA officers citing privacy rules because Trump and others were private citizens at the time the investigation began in 2006…although Trump's name appears in Epstein's contact book and flight logs the Department of Justice said they found no evidence linking him to Epstein's criminal activities
Ghislaine Maxwell has been quietly transferred from a federal prison in Florida to a minimum-security and more lenient facility in Texas where she continues to serve her 20-year sentence for sex trafficking…also Maxwell's scheduled congressional deposition has been postponed by the House Oversight Committee amid ongoing "good-faith negotiations" regarding her testimony
President Trump ordered his team to fire the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Dr. Erika McEntarfer, following the release of a weaker-than-expected jobs report…Trump accused McEntarfer of manipulating job data and stated she would be replaced with someone "much more competent and qualified" to ensure accurate and fair numbers going forward
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which funds NPR and PBS, announced that it will begin winding down operations due to the elimination of its federal funding by Congress
The Trump administration has frozen nearly $200 million in federal research grants to UCLA, citing the school’s failure to address antisemitism during recent pro-Palestinian protests and a Justice Department finding of civil rights violations…read more here
Federal Reserve Governor, Adriana Kugler, has submitted her resignation from the Federal Reserve Board, her last day will be August 8th
Ray Dalio has sold his remaining stake in Bridgewater Associates, the hedge fund he founded 50 years ago, and has stepped down from its board
The U.S. economy added 73,000 jobs in July, below expectations of 104,000…the unemployment rate came in at 4.2% which was in-line with expectations
The U.S. job reports for May and June were sharply revised downward by a combined total of 258,000 jobs…specifically, the May job gains were adjusted from an initially reported 144,000 to just 19,000 and June's gains were cut from 147,000 to only 14,000

Envoy Steve Witkoff visited Gaza today to inspect aid distribution sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)…Witkoff was joined by U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and they toured GHF sites and engaged with local residents with the goal of assessing the situation on the ground and finalizing a plan for increased food and humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza
