• In CNBC’s 2025 Top States for Business, North Carolina came in at 1st place recognized for its strong workforce and robust economy, Massachusetts is the most improved state jumping 18 spots to 20th overall, while Alaska ranks as the worst state for business this year…the rankings are based on 135 metrics across 10 categories…read more above

• U.S. Secretary of State Rubio met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on in Malaysia, during the ASEAN Regional Forum…the meeting focused on the ongoing war in Ukraine, with Rubio conveying President Trump’s “disappointment and frustration” at the lack of progress toward peace and acknowledging that talks between Moscow and Kyiv have stalled, both sides discussed exchanging new ideas for Ukraine peace talks

• The Pentagon has made a major investment in MP Materials, the leading U.S. rare earth miner, purchasing $400 million in stock and becoming its largest shareholder with about a 15% stake…this deal aims to expand domestic production of rare earth magnets that are critical for defense, electronics, and energy technologies and reduce reliance on China

• Six Secret Service agents have been suspended without pay or benefits for security lapses during the July 2024 attempted assassination of then-presidential candidate Trump at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania

• Federal judge, Joseph Laplante, has blocked President Trump’s executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship for children born in the U.S. to undocumented parents, issuing a preliminary injunction that applies nationwide…read more here

• The U.S. Department of Education has ended a policy that allowed undocumented immigrants to access federal funds for free tuition at technical, career, and adult education programs

• The U.S. is pressuring five African nations, Liberia, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, and Gabon to accept migrants deported from the U.S. whose home countries are either refusing to take them back or are slow to do so

• The FDA has granted full approval to Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine, Spikevax, for use in children aged 6 months through 11 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 disease

• President Trump has appointed Transportation Secretary, Sean Duffy, as interim NASA administrator

• Ferrero has announced it will acquire WK Kellogg, the U.S. breakfast cereal maker, for $3.1 billion…this deal gives Ferrero control of iconic cereal brands like Froot Loops, Special K, and Rice Krispies, and marks a major expansion into the North American breakfast foods market

• Bitcoin hit another all-time high price of $116,000 today
