• A federal judge has dismissed President Trump’s $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal and Rupert Murdoch over a story describing a lewd birthday message the paper said he sent to Jeffrey Epstein for his 50th birthday

• Over the weekend, negotiations between the U.S. and Iran ended without a deal after 21 hours of talks in Pakistan, President Trump then announced that the U.S. Navy will begin blockading “any and all ships” entering or leaving the Strait of Hormuz, with the operation beginning at 10 a.m. ET today…mediators from Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey are continuing efforts in the coming days to bring both sides back to talks and reach a deal to end the war before the ceasefire ends on April 21st

• Texas AG, Ken Paxton, has launched an investigation into Lululemon over whether its activewear contains potentially toxic “forever chemicals” and whether the company misled consumers about product safety

• Early this morning Democratic Congressman, Eric Swalwell, suspended his campaign for California governor just days after multiple women accused him of sexual assault and misconduct…the House Ethics Committee has opened an investigation into Swalwell over these allegations…later this evening he announced his resignation from the U.S. House of Representatives

• More than 1,000 Hollywood actors, writers, and directors have signed an open letter urging regulators to block Paramount Skydance’s proposed $110 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery

• Meta is creating an AI version of CEO Mark Zuckerberg that can talk with employees in his place and answer their questions as if they were speaking directly to him

• McDonald's is rolling out new "refreshers" and "crafted sodas" nationwide starting in May, with energy drinks to follow later this year…read more here

• The U.S. federal budget deficit in March was $164 billion, up 2% year over year and worse than the roughly $153 billion economists had expected…that brings the deficit for the first six months of fiscal 2026 to about $1.17 trillion

• U.S. existing-home sales fell 3.6% in March from February to a 3.98 million annual rate
