What happened today 🇺🇸,

• Elon Musk took to social media today to unloaded on President Trump's tax-and-spending bill and called it a "disgusting abomination"

• Newark Mayor, Ras Baraka, has filed a federal lawsuit against NJ interim U.S. Attorney, Alina Habba…Baraka is alleging false arrest, malicious prosecution, and defamation after he was detained on a trespassing charge outside the Delaney Hall federal immigration detention facility

• Bill Gates said he will donate the majority of his $200 billion fortune over the next 20 years to Africa to focus on improving health care, education, and economic development

• President Trump stated that the U.S. will not permit Iran to enrich uranium under any nuclear agreement…a position that goes against a report from Axios yesterday, which claimed the U.S. was prepared to allow some level of uranium enrichment as part of a potential deal

• The Department of Justice is investigating President Biden's pardons to determine if Biden "was competent and whether others were taking advantage of him through use of AutoPen or other means"

• A Texas bill is on the verge of becoming law that would require labels on packaged snack foods from Skittles, to Doritos, to M&M’s that warn about ingredients "not recommended for human consumption" by other countries

• Dave’s Hot Chicken has been acquired by private equity firm Roark Capital, the owner of Subway and Dunkin’, in a deal valued at about $1 billion…the restaurants leadership team will remain in place and plans are underway for rapid global expansion

• Hims & Hers Health has announced it will acquire Zava, a leading European digital health platform, in an all-cash deal expected to close in the second half of 2025…this move will expand Hims & Hers’ services globally

• According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' latest JOLTS report, the number of job openings rose to nearly 7.4 million in April, an increase of 191,000 from March and surpassing the expected 7.1 million projected by analysts

• DOW up .51% / S&P up .58%

• At least 27 Palestinians were killed and more injured after Israeli forces opened fire near a humanitarian aid distribution site in Gaza, with the Israeli military stating they targeted individuals who deviated from designated access routes and did not respond to warning shots…this marks the third consecutive day of deadly shootings near aid sites
