• A federal judge has dismissed the criminal cases against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James…ruling that Lindsey Halligan, the interim U.S. attorney who brought the indictments under President Trump's administration, was unlawfully appointed and lacked the authority to prosecute

• Axios reported that Democratic activists and politicians are actively lobbying party leadership to use ranked-choice voting for selecting the presidential nominee, with hopes of implementing the system for the 2028 primaries

• President Trump signed an executive order launching the "Genesis Mission”, a nationwide AI industry effort likened to the Manhattan Project, aiming to accelerate scientific discovery and innovation through artificial intelligence

• The Pentagon announced they are launching an investigation into Democratic Senator Mark Kelly after he appeared in a video alongside other lawmakers calling on U.S. troops to refuse unlawful orders, an act the Defense Department described as “serious allegations of misconduct”…because Kelly is a retired Navy captain, the Pentagon could potentially recall him to active duty for court-martial, a step not possible for the other lawmakers involved

• Former Democratic U.S. Senator, Doug Jones, has officially entered the race for Alabama governor in the 2026 election

• Late Friday night, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced she is resigning from Congress on Jan 5th, 2026

• Amazon has announced a commitment to invest up to $50 billion to expand artificial intelligence and supercomputing infrastructure specifically for U.S. government agencies

• President Trump spoke by phone with Chinese President Xi Jinping today discussing key issues including trade, the war in Ukraine, fentanyl, soybean exports, and the status of Taiwan…during the call, Xi emphasized Taiwan's "return to China" as a critical part of the post-war international order, while both leaders agreed to frequent communication and arranged for Trump to visit Beijing in April 2026
