  • President Trump will speak with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday to potentially finalize a TikTok deal after the U.S. and China announced today that they reached a framework agreement, the deal aims to keep TikTok operating in the U.S. by shifting to U.S.-controlled ownership…the Friday call is seen as a critical step to complete the deal ahead of the deadline for TikTok to divest its U.S. operations or face a ban

  • Maurene Comey, former federal prosecutor and daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over her firing in July from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York

  • The U.S. military conducted a second strike on an alleged Venezuelan drug trafficking vessel, the strike targeted a boat operating in international waters and was suspected of transporting illegal narcotics from Venezuela to the U.S.

  • President Trump suggested today that companies and corporations should not have to provide quarterly financial reports and should instead move to semi-annual reporting, stating the change would save money and let managers focus on long-term success…Trump emphasized that the Securities and Exchange Commission must first formally approve any shift from the longstanding quarterly requirement before companies can transition to reporting every six months

  • New York Governor, Kathy Hochul, officially endorsed Zohran Mamdani for New York City mayor

  • Apple's iOS 26 software update for iPhones became available today for iPhone 11, iPhone SE 2, and later models…the update introduces a new feature called Liquid Glass design, which offers a "glassy"/ see-through look with clearer and more fluid interface elements

  • McDonald's has announced a $200 million investment over the next seven years to promote regenerative agriculture practices on cattle ranches in the U.S.

  • Alphabet, the parent company to Google, has reached a market capitalization of $3 trillion for the first time, it is now the fourth company to reach a $3 trillion market capitalization joining Nvidia, Apple, and Microsoft

  • Tyson Foods announced it will stop using high fructose corn syrup and several other controversial ingredients in its U.S. products by the end of 2025…read more here 

  • OpenAI is backing “Critterz” which is an animated feature film made largely with generative AI, with the goal to complete production in just nine months with a budget under $30 million, far cheaper and faster than typical Hollywood projects…the purpose is to demonstrate that AI can substantially lower costs and accelerate timelines for movie creation
