🗞️Meta's AI smart glasses for athletes

• Meta has announced a new line of smart glasses developed in partnership with Oakley called the Oakley Meta HSTN glasses, they are designed for athletes and action sports enthusiasts, featuring a durable build and a camera capable of 3K video recording…the glasses integrate Meta AI for features like answering questions about what the wearer sees, POV video calls, and livestreaming

• A federal appeals court blocked Louisiana’s law requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every public school classroom, ruling it unconstitutional

• VP Vance traveled to L.A. today and delivered remarks as well as toured federal facilities, including a mobile command center, and met with Marines

• The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that victims of terrorist attacks can sue the Palestinian Authority and the Palestine Liberation Organization in American courts…this decision allows Americans injured or killed in attacks abroad, including incidents in Israel and the West Bank, to seek financial compensation from these Palestinian entities in U.S. courts

• Tesla’s robotaxi service is scheduled to launch in Austin, Texas this Sunday June 22nd…the launch will include a “safety monitor” in the front seat to oversee operations and be invite only to a select group of people

• Aflac disclosed a cybersecurity incident in which a cybercrime group used social engineering tactics to access sensitive personal data, including Social Security numbers and health information, of customers, employees, and others…the total number affected is still unknown as the investigation continues

• Apple is planning to launch a “premium” priced folding iPhone, with current reports indicating the first model will debut in 2026 as part of the iPhone 18 lineup

• The U.S. national debt has officially surpassed $37 Trillion

• DOW up .08% / S&P down .22%

• A magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit Iran…the quake occurred amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes in the region, but there have been no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage, and authorities are still assessing the situation

• UK lawmakers in the House of Commons voted to back a landmark assisted dying bill that would allow terminally ill adults in England and Wales, with six months or less to live, to seek medical assistance to end their lives…read more about it here
