• The Pentagon has approved redirecting the USS Tripoli, which is an amphibious assault ship, along with its embarked Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) of roughly 2,200-2,500 Marines to the Middle East to bolster U.S. forces amid the war with Iran

• President Trump signed two executive orders aimed at improving housing affordability by cutting regulatory burdens for construction and mortgage practices…read more here 

• A federal judge blocked Justice Department subpoenas targeting Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, halting the Trump administration’s investigation into his congressional testimony on the central bank's headquarters renovation costs…the Trump administration said they plan to appeal the decision

• The U.S. military announced that all six service members aboard a KC-135 refueling aircraft were killed when it crashed in Iraq yesterday…the U.S. Central Command stated the incident occurred in friendly airspace and was not due to hostile or friendly fire, an investigation is still ongoing 

• Axios reported that President Trump told G7 leaders on a recent call that Iran is “about to surrender”, citing U.S. military gains and internal instability in Tehran…however, Iranian leaders have publicly vowed to keep fighting

• The Trump Administration will receive a $10 billion fee for brokering the sale of TikTok

• Southwest Airlines will end all service to Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and Washington Dulles (IAD) airports starting June 4th, 2026

• NYC Mayor, Zohran Mamdani, has proposed slashing New York's estate tax exemption threshold from over $7 million down to $750,000, which is a roughly 90% cut, while hiking the top marginal rate from 16% to 50%…the plan was outlined in a memo to state lawmakers and aims to generate revenue for NYC's $5.4 billion budget shortfall starting July 1st

• January PCE inflation came in at 2.8% year over year, below the expectations of 2.9%…January Core PCE inflation came in at 3.1% year over year, which was in-line with expectations

• S&P down .61% / Nasdaq down .93% / DOW down .26%
