• Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released a second batch of 19 images from Jeffrey Epstein's estate, the images showed Epstein with high-profile figures including President Trump, Steve Bannon, former President Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Bill Gates, Woody Allen, Richard Branson, and Alan Dershowitz…these undated photos, which are part of a larger trove exceeding 95,000 images, show no apparent illegal activity by the individuals involved and come amid a December 19th deadline for the Justice Department to release additional Epstein files

• The National Trust for Historic Preservation has filed a federal lawsuit seeking to halt President Trump’s planned White House ballroom, arguing the project violates constitutional, historic-preservation, planning, and environmental review requirements…the group is asking a court to freeze demolition and construction until the administration submits the project for full outside review and public input

• President Trump said he is leaning toward choosing either former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh or White House Economic Advisor Kevin Hassett as the next Federal Reserve Chairman

• The U.S. Justice Department sued Fulton County, Georgia for failing to comply with a federal subpoena demanding 2020 election records like ballots, stubs, and digital files amid probes into voter registration laws

• The commander of U.S. Southern Command overseeing military operations in South America and the Caribbean, Admiral Alvin Holsey, retired today as planned following his October announcement of early retirement after just over a year in the role

• Illinois Governor, JB Pritzker, signed the Medical Aid in Dying Act, known as Deb's Law, which legalizes "right to die" options for terminally ill adults with a prognosis of six months or less to live

• Oracle has delayed completion of several data centers it's building for OpenAI from 2027 to 2028, primarily due to shortages in labor and materials

• The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) announced conditional approvals for five crypto firms, Circle (First National Digital Currency Bank), Ripple National Trust Bank, BitGo Bank & Trust, Fidelity Digital Assets, and Paxos Trust Company, to pursue national trust bank charters

• DoorDash and Uber Eats have filed a lawsuit against New York City challenging a new law that goes into effect January 26th, that mandates delivery apps display tipping prompts at checkout with a minimum of 10%…the companies argue the rules violate First Amendment free speech protections by dictating tip messaging, exceed the city's authority, and impose "sticker shock" on consumers amid tipping fatigue and NYC's high delivery costs

• DOW down .51% / S&P down 1.07%

• King Charles III announced that his cancer treatment will be scaled back in the new year due to early diagnosis, effective intervention, and adherence to medical advice…in a televised message for a cancer screening campaign, he described the update as a personal blessing and testament to medical progress
