• The U.S. government has begun massive layoffs, with up to 200,000 probationary employees at risk of being terminated, some of the agencies being targeted for downsizing include the Department of Energy, Veteran Affairs, Agriculture, Education, and Small Business Administration

• The White House has said The Associated Press is banned from the Oval Office and Air Force One for not acknowledging the new ‘Gulf of America’ geographical name

• Trump has signed an executive order halting federal funds for schools that require the Covid vaccine for students

• Jeff Bezos’s, Blue Origin, has announced plans to lay off about 10% of its workforce which is more than 1,000 employees mostly located in Texas, Washington, and Florida

• OpenAI has officially rejected Elon Musk’s proposal to buy the artificial intelligence company for $97.4 billion

• Like Apple, Google has also allowed TikTok back on their App Store for Android products to download

• U.S. retail spending declined last month for the first time since last June, retail sales fell 0.9% in January more than the 0.2% that was expected

• Pope Francis has been hospitalized for bronchitis treatment and has canceled his events for the next three days
