President Trump announced on social media that the U.S. will "permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries" to allow the immigration system to recover, alongside terminating federal benefits for noncitizens, revoking millions of Biden-era admissions, denaturalizing certain migrants, and deporting those deemed non-assets, security risks, or incompatible with Western civilizationā¦this follows the White House directive for a full reexamination of all green cards issued to people from 19 "countries of concern" which are Afghanistan, Burma (Myanmar), Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela
One of the two National Guard members shot in an ambush near the White House, 20-year-old Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, has died from her injuries, while 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe remains in critical condition and "fighting for his lifeāā¦the suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, faces upgraded charges of first-degree murder, with officials considering additional counts and the death penalty amid a terrorism investigation
