• The Federal Highway Administration has paused a $5 billion funding program for states to build electric vehicle charging stations across the country

• A regional airline flight with 10 people on board went missing and crashed near western Alaska, authorities say all the passengers have died

• A federal judge on today paused the Trump administration from carrying out its plan to place thousands of workers at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) on administrative leave 

• Despite a judge pausing the Trump administration’s buyout offer deadline that was supposed to be Thursday night and moving it until at least Monday, 65,000 U.S. federal employees have accepted the buyout offer and have resigned

• Trump said today he will be signing an executive order next week to end paper straws

• Tinder will trial AI-powered features for discovering and matching with people in hopes of giving users more engaging and meaningful matches

• Japan’s Nippon Steel will “invest heavily” into U.S. Steel instead of acquiring the company, this comes after former President Biden blocked the deal that would have allowed Nippon to acquire U.S. Steel in January and at the time Trump agreed with Biden’s decision

• The U.S. economy added 143,000 jobs in January, below the expectations of 170,000, however the unemployment rate fell to 4.0% beating the expectations of 4.1%, we now have the lowest unemployment rate since May 2024

• 83% of millennials stick to a monthly budget, compared to just 67% of baby boomers and 74% of Gen Xers, per Fortune

• DOW down .99%/ S&P down .95%

• The European Union has decided to lower tariffs on American car imports as a strategic move to prevent a trade war with the U.S., the decrease in the rate will go from 10% to 2.5%, per FT

• Japanese Prime Minister, Shigeru Ishiba, met with President Trump at the White House today, they discussed more Japanese investment into the U.S. and the trade deficit

• Hamas has named the next three hostages to be released as part of the Israel/Hamas ceasefire deal on Saturday, they are Eli Sharabi age 52, Ohad Ben Ami age 56, and Or Levy age 34
