• The FBI stopped a potential terrorist attack planned for Halloween weekend in Michigan, arresting multiple suspects in the cities of Dearborn and Inkster near Detroit…FBI Director, Kash Patel, announced the arrests and praised law enforcement’s vigilance, emphasizing that there is currently no danger to the community, details about the suspects and the nature of the planned attack remain sealed as the investigation continues

• Through bipartisan efforts, Ohio lawmakers have passed a new congressional redistricting map ahead of the 2026 elections that creates 12 Republican-leaning districts and 3 Democratic-leaning ones

• Two U.S. federal judges ruled that the Trump administration must continue funding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) during the government shutdown by using contingency funds, which contain about $5 billion to keep the program running…these rulings came just before the USDA planned to freeze SNAP payments

• Netflix is actively exploring a bid for Warner Bros. Discovery’s studio and streaming business, having hired financial advisor Moelis & Co. to evaluate the potential acquisition…acquiring Warner Bros. would give Netflix control over major franchises like Harry Potter and the DC Universe, as well as HBO Max's content, but Netflix has made clear that it is not interested in acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery’s cable television networks such as CNN and TNT

• Samsung is building a new "AI Megafactory" powered by over 50,000 Nvidia GPUs to automate and enhance its semiconductor chip manufacturing, mobile device production, and robotics development…read more here
