• President Trump met with NYC Mayor-elect, Zohran Mamdani, at the White House for a discussion focused largely on affordability and crime reduction…the meeting was surprisingly civil and productive with discussions focused on affordability issues, despite their political differences both expressed willingness to find common ground to improve housing, public safety, and living costs in the city, with Trump acknowledging some of Mamdani's ideas align with his own

• The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has officially canceled the October Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation report due to the government shutdown

• The House of Representatives passed a resolution (which is essentially a formal statement of opinion or intent) denouncing socialism in all its forms with a vote of 285-98, including bipartisan support from 86 Democrats joining Republicans…the resolution condemns socialism as an ideology responsible for millions of deaths worldwide and opposes the adoption of socialist policies in the U.S.

• Democratic Congressman, Eric Swalwell, has officially announced his candidacy for governor of California in the 2026 election

• Republican members of the House Oversight Committee are demanding that former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appear in person for depositions next month as part of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking network…Chairman James Comer has set Bill Clinton’s deposition for December 17th and Hillary Clinton’s for December 18th, warning that any refusal to comply with the subpoenas could result in contempt of Congress proceedings…read more here 

• Eli Lilly reached a $1 trillion market capitalization on today, becoming the first health-care company in history to achieve this milestone

• Paramount Skydance, Comcast, and Netflix have all submitted bids to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, either wholly or partially, setting off a high-stakes battle for the century-old media company known for its film and TV studios including HBO, CNN, and Warner Bros.

• U.S. consumer sentiment (how Americans feel about the overall economy and their personal finances) declined to 51.0 in November from 53.6 in October, marking one of the lowest readings on record

• California is considering a one-time 5% wealth tax targeting approximately 200 billionaires in the state…the proposed tax, known as the "2026 Billionaire Tax Act" aims to generate around $100 billion over the next five years

• DOW up 1.08% / S&P up .98%

• President Trump has set a Thanksgiving deadline (which is this upcoming Thursday) for Ukraine to accept a U.S.-proposed 28-point peace plan warning that failure to agree may result in losing vital U.S. intelligence and weapons support…Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has expressed that the deal forces Ukraine to choose between its "dignity" and maintaining its key partnership with the U.S.
