• OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, announced a partnership with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) under which ChatGPT Enterprise will be offered to all federal agencies for just $1 per agency for one year…this agreement is part of the Trump administration's AI Action Plan and the GSA's OneGov strategy to modernize government operations, providing federal employees unlimited access to advanced AI tools, tailored training resources, and a government user community to support AI adoption in public service

• Ghislaine Maxwell during her meetings with Deputy Attorney General Blanche about the Jeffrey Epstein case reportedly stated that she never saw Donald Trump do anything concerning or alarming in her presence

• President Trump signed an Executive Order to raise tariffs on India by an additional 25%, which now doubles the total tariff rate to 50%…this increase was specifically imposed due to India's continued purchases of Russian oil

• NYC has opened the nation's first city-funded homeless shelter exclusively for transgender and gender nonconforming people located in Queens

• In 2024 violent crime in the U.S. decreased by 4.5% overall, with murder rates falling nearly 15% according to FBI data…despite the improvement the U.S. murder rate remains relatively high at about 5 per 100,000 people, with a violent crime occurring every 26 seconds on average…read more here 

• Apple has committed to investing an additional $100 billion in U.S. manufacturing over the next four years, bringing its total committed investment in the country to $600 billion which is aiming to expand domestic production and job creation

• Uber has announced a $20 billion stock buyback program following its better-than-expected second-quarter earnings

• Claire's, the teen-focused retail chain known for budget jewelry and accessories, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the second time in seven years

• DOW up .18% / S&P up .73%

• U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Putin at the Kremlin as part of a last-minute diplomatic effort ahead of a White House deadline for Russia to agree to a Ukraine ceasefire or face new economic sanctions…during the talks today Putin proposed a meeting with President Trump and it could take place as soon as next week

• Today marks the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, this marked the first time a nuclear weapon was use and was a pivotal event that helped lead to the end of World War II
