OpenAI is developing a teen-friendly version of ChatGPT that includes enhanced safety features such as stricter content filters prohibiting flirtatious or self-harm discussions, crisis response interventions, parental controls allowing account linking, and usage restrictions
President Trump has filed a $15 billion defamation and libel lawsuit against The New York Times and four of its journalists, as well as publisher Penguin Random House…the lawsuit alleges that three articles and a book published by Times reporters before the 2024 election were intentionally false and designed to harm Trump’s business reputation and sabotage his candidacy
A U.S. appeals court ruled that President Trump cannot fire Federal Reserve Governor, Lisa Cook, before the upcoming Fed interest rate meeting, the ruling preserves a lower court order blocking the firing…the Trump administration has since appealed the decision to the Supreme Court in a last-ditch effort to remove her
The Senate has confirmed President Trump’s nominee, Stephen Miran, to the Federal Reserve Board by a narrow 48-47 vote, ensuring he can participate in this week’s interest rate meeting

The pharmaceutical company, Eli Lilly, announced a $5 billion investment to build a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Goochland County, Virginia…this facility will focus on producing active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products for targeted cancer therapies and autoimmune diseases and will create over 650 jobs
U.S. retail sales increased 0.6% in August, beating the expectations of a 0.2% gain and maintaining the same growth rate as July
