What happened today 🇺🇸,

• Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, met with President Trump at the White House today…the meeting was very calm and friendly with the main topics discussed being trade and annexation, Carney made it clear that “Canada was not for sale” but acknowledged the importance of working with the U.S.

• President Trump announced that the U.S. will stop bombing the Houthi militants in Yemen immediately after the Houthis came to the administration saying they wanted the fighting to stop and said they would stop attacking ships in the Red Sea

• The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has named Dr. Vinay Prasad, a hematologist oncologist to lead the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research which is the division that oversees vaccines and biologic medicines

• NY Attorney General, Letitia James, is reportedly hunting for insider trading in Trump's inner circle

• The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration can implement their ban on transgender personnel in the military

• Rite Aid has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, this is the second time they have filed for bankruptcy protection in the last two years…they will close more than 170 stores across NY

• Doordash has acquired the restaurant booking platform, SevenRoom, for $1.2 billion and the U.K. based delivery service, Deliveroo, for $3.9 billion both in all-cash deals

• 34% of Americans do not have an emergency fund to cover their monthly mortgage or rent payments in the event they face a financial crisis, like losing a job, per Redfin

• The U.S. trade deficit hit a record $140.5 billion in March, Imports accounted for $419 billion (+4.4%) and Exports accounted for $278.5 billion (+0.2%)

• DOW down .95% / S&P down .77%

• India launched missile strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir in retaliation for a deadly attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir that killed 26 people last month, Pakistan has said they will be retaliating both on the ground and by air…for more info and live updates click here
