What happened today 🇺🇸,

  • Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic have partnered with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) to launch the National Academy for AI Instruction, a $23 million initiative that will train U.S. educators to safely and effectively use AI in classrooms

  • An impostor used artificial intelligence to copy Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s voice and contacted high-level officials, including three foreign ministers, a U.S. governor, and a member of Congress, by voice and text messages in an apparent attempt to gain access to sensitive information or accounts

  • The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled to allowed President Trump to proceed with plans for mass layoffs and reorganizations across federal agencies, lifting a lower court order that had blocked these actions and clearing the way for the administration to fire thousands of federal employees without needing Congressional approval

  • President Trump has announced the U.S. will send more defensive weapons to Ukraine, citing intensified Russian attacks and the need for Ukraine to defend itself

  • The IRS has said that churches and other houses of worship can endorse political candidates to their congregations, carving out an exemption in a decades-old ban on political activity by tax-exempt nonprofits…read more here 

  • The FBI has reportedly launched a criminal investigation into former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan…this is a developing story more to come

  • The TSA is ending its policy requiring passengers to remove their shoes at airport security checkpoints…the change, confirmed by the White House and DHS, is being rolled out in phases and has already begun at select airports including Philadelphia, Baltimore/Washington, Fort Lauderdale, Cincinnati, Piedmont Triad, LaGuardia, and Los Angeles

  • Waymo has launched teen accounts for its self-driving ride service in Phoenix, AZ…this will allow teenagers aged 14 to 17 to ride alone in Waymo robotaxis with parental permission, teens’ accounts are linked to a parent or guardian’s account, enabling parents to invite their teens, monitor rides in real time, receive receipts, and involve customer support if needed

  • Trump Media & Technology Group has filed with the SEC to launch a "Crypto Blue Chip ETF" that would directly hold a portfolio of five major cryptocurrencies: 70% Bitcoin, 15% Ethereum, 8% Solana, 5% Cronos, and 2% Ripple (XRP)

  • The current CEO of Wendy’s, Kirk Tanner, has been named the next President and CEO of The Hershey Company and will officially begin August 18th

  • DOW down .37% / S&P down .07%
